Renovation Overview

Since its construction in 1975, the Charles E. Smith Center has been the heart and soul of the George Washington University, and the home of countless Colonials basketball memories.

After two full years of construction and the completion of a $43-million renovation, the GW basketball experience is better than ever. Fans will notice a new facade and enjoy a gorgeous, more streamlined box office, a new GW Athletic Hall of Fame, and a more convenient concessions corridor complemented by improved GW Fastbreak in-seat concession services. Replays, statistics and videos will be shown in stunning quality on the new state-of-the-art Daktronics scoreboard.

Now more than ever, GW basketball is a total experience with great views from all seats, fantastic food, and an environment that highlights the exciting past, present and future of Colonials athletics.
